South Florida Anti-Bullying Organization Partners with AAJ Technologies to Fund Scholarships for Students Through Strike Out Bullying Fundraiser
Fort Lauderdale, FL — National Voices for Equality, Education and Enlightenment (NVEEE), a national anti-bullying organization will host its annual Strike Out Bullying Fundraiser on July 9, 2017 from 12-3pm at Sawgrass Lanes. With help from sponsors like AAJ Technologies, the organization’s goal is to raise $15,000 and fund scholarships for high school students to attend NVEEE’s Peace Ambassador Leadership Summit (PALS).
Now in its fourth year being sponsored by Florida International University Honor’s College, PALS has provided youth in South Florida a unique personal growth experience where they emerge as leaders, following compelling presentations that target proven bullying, self-harm, and suicide prevention techniques, life skills, leadership and personal development, team building, peer mediation, and conflict resolution skills. “My favorite part this year is going to be Career Day” states Hannah Ortega, a Jr. Staff Leader at PALS. “This summer I’ll be looking for jobs and next school year I start the college process. It’s all happening so fast and I like being able to talk to adults in different fields so I know what to expect. I’ve been with NVEEE for four years now and every year PALS gets better and even more impactful for me.”
AAJ Technologies, a Fort Lauderdale based firm with a focus on digital transformation services, is donating a portion of the proceeds from their upcoming Digital Transformation Forum on June 22, in addition to hosting a professional development training day in their offices for the student leaders of PALS. Amjad Shamim, CEO and Managing Partner, states, “I know how important it is for young people to build confidence and learn basic but necessary skills such as a good handshake, making eye contact, and giving their elevator pitch. We are happy to not only donate but also invite the PALS Jr. Staff leaders to put what they learned at the training into action by shadowing our executive leaders and participating in our Digital Transformation event this month.”
