2009 - AAJ Technologies was recognized as the best minority business for its exemplary service and commitment to customers, management expertise, quality processes, substantial growth, and commitment to community with the 2009 “Supplier/Vendor Of The Year” award given by the Southern Florida Minority Supplier Development Council (SFMSDC). The “Supplier/Vendor Of The Year” award is presented to a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) affiliate who consistently provides quality products and services, demonstrates timely delivery procedures and exemplifies strong customer relations. SFMSDC is a not-for-profit corporation established to foster the development and expansion of minority-owned businesses. The organization is committed to building mutually beneficial relationships between minority businesses, corporate and government buyers. Its 2009 Awards Gala was held at Florida International University in North Miami, Florida.

Best Web-Based Technical Application Award, Permitting
AAJ Technologies

2009 - AAJ Technologies’ collaborative online permit system was awarded the Organization of Fish & Wildlife Information Managers (OFWIM) “Web-Based Technical Application Award” at their 2009 annual conference. This national award recognizes excellence for the development and deployment of a fish or wildlife information-related technical application on the Web. Nominated applications were evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Effectiveness
  • Innovation
  • Use of current technology
  • Success in meeting stated goals
  • Relevance to fisheries and wildlife information technology

The online permit system was developed for the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Agency’s (FWC) efforts to automate the application process, “Go Green” and manage resources and costs. The solution accelerates the review process, thereby greatly decreasing the time for granting of approvals. AAJ’s Solution Architect, Imran Noor and Business Development Manager, Andrew Cocks, presented the web-based application to conference attendees during the conference.

Microsoft's MVP Award

2009 - AAJ Technologies, Senior Software Engineer, Moonis Tahir, has been named a Microsoft “Most Valuable Professional” (MVP).

Every year, Microsoft selects the best and the brightest from the technical community, awarding the MVP distinction for knowledge of a product and deep commitment to sharing high quality, real world expertise in offline and online technical communities as well as with clients. Tahir was nominated as a candidate for this award in 2008 and identified by Microsoft as someone to watch in recognition of his technical expertise, project experience and contributions to technical communities on the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server forums.
